Help
Short answers about tapping, scanning, saving contacts and looking after your card.
How to tap
- Wake and unlock the phone (screen on).
- Hold the card flat against the top-back of an iPhone, or the middle of the back of an Android. Hold still for a second or two.
- A banner or a browser page appears with the card. Tap it if asked.
The position differs by phone model. If nothing happens, slide the card slowly across the back of the phone, or use the QR code printed on the card or shown on the card page.
Which phones can tap?
| Phone | Tap the card? |
|---|---|
| iPhone XS, XS Max, XR and every later iPhone | Yes. Reads the card in the background with the screen on (on the lock screen after the first unlock since the phone started) and shows a banner that opens Safari. |
| iPhone 7, 8 and X | Not by simply tapping. Use the QR code with the Camera app. |
| iPhone 6s and older; all iPads | No tag reading. Use the QR code or the link. |
| Android phones with NFC | Yes. Most phones made since about 2013 have NFC, and most ship with it switched on. The page opens in your default browser (some brands show a chooser first). Screen on and unlocked. |
| Android phones without NFC | Many budget models sold in the Philippines have no NFC. Check Settings → NFC; if it is missing, use the QR code or the link. |
The QR code and the link always work
Every card also has a QR code and a share link. Open the Camera app (iPhone or Android), point it at the QR code and tap the link that appears. The card owner can also show the QR code from their card page, or send the link by message.
Save the contact
- iPhone: on the card page tap Save contact. Safari shows a contact preview; tap Add to Contacts (or use the share sheet).
- Android: tap Save contact. The phone downloads a .vcf file; open it and choose Contacts. On some phones it is under Downloads.
- Computer: the .vcf file downloads; double-click it to import into your contacts app.
The contact photo is included when the card owner has added one, but some phones do not import it every time.
For cardholders
Change my details, photo or colours
Sign in to the customer portal with your mobile number or email (a one-time code is sent), or with your password. Edits go live straight away and the contact file updates too.
I lost my card or it was stolen
Open the portal and pause the card, or message us. Pausing is free and takes effect immediately: anyone who taps it sees a neutral “paused” page with none of your details. When you find the card, switch it back on. If it is gone for good, we can issue a replacement card with a new link; the old link then stops working permanently (a re-issue fee applies, see your quote).
Can someone change what is written on my NFC card?
Cards are encoded with only a web address and then locked read-only, so no one can rewrite them with a phone. Your details live on the page, not on the card.
Renewals
Your card works for the period on your order. We remind you by SMS or email before it ends. If it is not renewed by the due date, there is a 14-day grace period, then the card is paused until it is renewed. Request your renewal in the portal or by message; you can pay by the methods shown on your order.
Who can see my visits?
You see totals only (views, saves, link clicks, countries, devices). Visits are counted anonymously, with no cookies. Details are in the Privacy notice.
